Apraxia-Kids Apraxia or dyspraxia of speech is where there's a wide gap between understanding (receptive) and verbalizing (expressive) language. It's a lack in oral motor ability, not in cognition. This comprehensive site does an awesome job of informing and helping put the pieces together.
