Evaluation

The science project will be graded by your individual science teacher and will account for part of your quarterly grade. Please note that the Science Fair binder/report handed-in must stand on its own and contain all the pictures, maps, graphs, etc. necessary to explain the project's findings, as the display will be dismantled that evening after the Science Fair. As stated earlier, the background paper counts one fourth; the four weeks of work in the classroom, including the Experimental Design/Blueprint and the Pre-Lab Write-Up counts half; and the performance on the day/evening of the Fair counts the remaining one fourth of the grade. The three science teachers will be assisted by TASIS teachers to evaluate your performance on March 6th, 2003. This process will, of course, be overseen as much as possible by your science teacher-the one who assigns the final grade.

We hope you will have a good experience in working through this project, culminating with your performances on the night of the Science Fair. Remember to be creative, neat and accurate, anticipate ups and downs in the process, and try not to make it too complicated! So students, get cracking, and Good Luck!

The Display

Remember that your physical presentation makes the first impression on the audience and evaluators. A sloppy presentation may make others think you did a sloppy job of research and experimenting as well.

2 Side Boards--30.5 cm x 91.5 cm (1 ft. x 3 ft.)
